チームのミッション・求められる役割

• エンジニアリングオフィス(EO)のミッションは、強固なエンジニアリング組織を確立することです。エンジニアリング部門がお客さまに迅速かつ継続的にバリューを効果的に提供できるよう、最高のエンジニアリング体験を提供する社内のプロジェクトや仕組み作りをリードしています。
• このミッションを達成するために、社内外のステークホルダーとコミュニケーションを取りながら、様々な改善活動を企画、実施、推進していただきます。
• 今回募集するTechPR担当は、Mercariエンジニアリング組織の活動を外部に発信し様々な認知向上策(技術ブランディング活動)を自ら施策を考え、それを実行できる方を求めています。メルカリはアウトプット活動を盛んに行っていますが、まだまだ改善の余地があります。更なるアウトプットレベル向上を一緒に目指す方を求めています。

具体的な業務内容は下記のとおりです。

• 技術ブランディングに関する外部発信戦略の立案、実行
• SNS、Mercari Engineering Website、YouTubeなどの運用、改善 (Tech Blog含む)
• メルカリ主催の外部向け技術イベントの計画、実行
• 技術コミュニティ、技術カンファレンス、OSSなどへのスポンサーシップの計画、実行
• TechPR活動に関するリソース管理(予算、ノベルティなど)
• 外部への情報発信を促すための文化醸成

必須条件

• メルカリグループおよび各カンパニーのミッションとバリューに共感していただける方
• IT業界での5年以上の実務経験(プロジェクトマネジメント経験があるとなお良し)
• 国内外の外部企業との契約交渉、発注管理経験
• エンジニアとの協働経験(エンジニア・人事・採用・広報いずれの役割でも可)
• チームや組織の制度やルールを設計し実際に導入した経験(少人数のチームでのルールのようなものでも構いません)
• エンジニアリング組織の改善に対する熱意

歓迎条件

• エンジニア、もしくはEngineering Managerとしての経験
• 外部向けの技術に関する情報発信・広報活動の経験
• コミュニティマネジメントの経験

選考のポイント

• 複数の論理的仮説を立て、それぞれのメリット・デメリットを説明し、説得力のある提案を行うことができる。
• 大人数を巻き込む問題解決手法を採用し、大胆なアプローチを示すことができる。
• 品質、コスト、納期をバランスよく重視し、適切な優先順位付けを行いながら、全体像を描き、大規模プロジェクトの実施を構想することができる
• データを用いた目標設定、データ取得方法の理解、データからの洞察の抽出ができる。
• 社内に蓄積されたナレッジを活用することを意識し、短期的な解決策と、問題の再発を防止するための長期的な構造的な解決策の両方を含むアプローチを検討することができる。
• お客さまの問題に効率的に対応・解決し、その過程で強固な関係を築くことができる。

Team's Mission / Work Responsibilities

Team mission:

• The mission of the Engineering Office (EO) is to establish a resilient Engineering Organization. We're leading in-house projects and mechanisms in order to deliver the best engineering experience to engineers, as the engineering division delivers effectively on our values quickly and continuously to our customers.
  
• In order to achieve this mission, you'll plan, implement and promote a wide array of improvement activities, while communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
  
• This role expects a Tech PR representative who can communicate the activities of Mercari's Engineering Organization to the outside world, through planning out various recognition measures (technical branding activities) and executing them autonomously. While Mercari is actively engaged in output activities, there is still room for improvement. We are seeking someone who aims to further improve the level of output together with us.
  

Specific work responsibilities include the following:

• Planning and execution of the external communication strategies related to technical branding activities
• Operations and improvements of social media accounts, Mercari Engineering Website, YouTube, etc. (including the Tech Blog)
• Planning and execution of external tech events hosted by Mercari
• Planning and execution of sponsorships for tech communities, tech conferences, OSS, etc.
• Resource management for Tech PR activities (budget, swags, etc.)
• Fostering a culture that encourages external outputs

• EO covers a wide variety of areas, so many skills will be necessary. The strengths of each member of the team are used in unison to accomplish different tasks.
• EO always tackles new challenges to improve the division through new approaches. Since Mercari continues to grow constantly, members need flexibility in learning and adapting to new skills. At the same time, there are many opportunities to learn new skills, allowing you to continuously take on challenges.
• Mercari has been ranked No.1 for two consecutive years in the "Developer eXperience AWARD" organized by the Japan CTO Association in the "Developer Experience Branding" survey. In this highly regarded environment, there are opportunities to further improve our recognition.
• Mercari aims to increase recognition not only within Japan but also internationally, and you can also engage in global challenges such as coordinating sponsorship opportunities for overseas communities and conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Shared understanding and belief in our company's mission and values
• 5+ years experience in the IT industry (experience in project management is a plus)
• Experience in negotiations and order management with external companies domestically and internationally
• Experience in working with engineers (in roles such as engineer, HR, recruiter, or public relations)
• Experience in designing and implementing systems or rules for teams or organizations (a simple rules for small teams are acceptable)
• Passion for improving engineering organizations
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as engineer or engineering manager
• Experience in external output/PR activity about technical information
• Experience in community management
  

Screening Criteria

• Is capable of generating multiple logical hypotheses, alongside explaining their respective advantages and disadvantages, to formulate compelling proposals.
• Employ problem-solving methods that engage large groups of people, demonstrating boldness in their approach.
• Possess the ability to envision the implementation of large projects, painting the overall picture while maintaining a balanced focus on quality, cost, and delivery to ensure proper prioritization.
• Proficient in setting goals using data, understanding data acquisition methods, and extracting insights from data.
• Able to consider approaches encompassing both short-term fixes and structured long-term solutions to prevent recurring issues, with a keen awareness of leveraging accumulated company knowledge.
• Efficiently responds to and solves our customer problems, fostering strong relationships in the process.
