A global internet technology company is looking for a Japan Tax Country Manager. The selected candidate will lead local tax compliance and governance while partnering with global teams on strategic tax matters. This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage tax obligations and drive practical tax solutions
- Oversee preparation, review, and filing of corporate, consumption, withholding, and other business taxes
- Enhance tax control frameworks and manage audits from the National Tax Agency
- Advise global teams on local tax matters and provide technical tax insights
- Contribute to local tax initiatives, including incentives and business launches
- Monitor changes in tax laws and propose appropriate operational responses
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above
- More than 5 years of experience in Japanese tax in industry or multinational accounting firm
- 3-5 years of professional experience
- Experience in the TMT industry and relevant tax issues us a plus
- Knowledge of accounting principles is preferred
- Possess valid professional Japanese or tax qualifications is ideal
- Proficient in reading Chinese and English
