Lead the Japan IDC team to deliver ongoing and upcoming data center development projects, ensuring high standards across design, construction, and operational readiness.
Identify and pursue new project opportunities in the Japanese data center market.Build and manage strategic relationships with clients, IDC operators, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Liaise with local authorities, government agencies, utility providers, and connectivity suppliers to secure permits, power, and fiber infrastructure for projects.
Coordinate with internal teams in Japan and other regional offices on cost management, scheduling, and project management.Collaborate with cross-border teams on overall design, construction coordination, and PMO reporting.
Provide regular project progress updates, risk assessments, and issue reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
Support technical sales efforts by assisting with pre-contract client discussions and ensuring smooth project handover to operations or tenants.
Monitor market trends and emerging technologies within Japan's data center industry to provide strategic insights and recommendations for future developments.
Contribute to the preparation of internal reports, investment materials, and strategic business cases for management review.Work closely with leadership to refine development strategies aligned with company objectives and market demand.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business; professional qualifications in Architecture, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., 一級建築士) are advantageous.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience managing data center development or large-scale construction projects.
Proven experience managing vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams in high-pressure environments.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools; professional certifications (e.g., PMP or equivalent) are a plus.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities, including the preparation of reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Willingness to travel within Asia as required.
