Job Description
Job Summary:

• The accountant will perform daily accounting activities in Japan and prepare accounting deliverables.
• The accountant may be partnered with junior staff where the company deems fit and is expected to guide them to deliver tasks efficiently.
• The accountant must embrace ADM's culture of good collaboration with BU Finance and various stakeholders for respectively projects expected of all employees.

Main Responsibilities

• Daily Bookkeeping: manage day-to-day financial transactions, including processing supplier invoices, incoming receipt and payments approval.
• Bank reconciliation cash forecast: regular reconciliation for bank statements and intra account balances to ensure cash accuracy; perform weekly and quarterly cash forecast.
• T&E settlement: Booking of T&E related transactions
• Inventory and costing: Understanding of inventory valuation and costing concept, responsible for COGS calculation and posting.
• FX and hedges: Understanding FX and hedge concept, responsible for entering FX hedges and monitoring FX exposure.
• Monthly close activities: Preparation and posting of journals, financial upload and other reporting packages (IBM/WebJV), intercompany confirmation and preparation of balance sheet reconciliation.
• Monthly Activities: Preparation of intercompany circling templates, sales information via I-Cargo and other routine submission.
• Master Data Maintenance: responsible for creation & maintenance of products, vendors and customer records in various systems (legacy, informatica and SAP).
• Statutory Reporting: Assist with statutory financial reporting , tax filing and monthly tax payments, in collaboration with line manager.
• Ad Hoc activities: Support finance team with various ad-hoc activities, as required. Work closely with various stakeholders to support business objectives and enhance financial performance.

• Experience/knowledge of Accounting for American multinational company
• Working Experience in finance or accounting at multinational company is essential.
• Reporting Experience to US or other head office is essential.
• High diversity experience is essential.
• Outline of US GAAP, IFRS and US TAX knowledge are important.
• Internal audit experience is important.
• Cross functional organization knowledge or experience are essential.
• Working in large multinational company and cross functional communication experience is important.
• Solid financial and accounting knowledge / education are essential.
• Because we must handle two reporting entities, using different ERP systems by manually. Statutory report must be prepared manually.
• Closing, reporting, tax filing experience are essential.
• JGAAP and Japan taxation knowledge is essential.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting area is essential.
• Tax audit is important and Financial audit experience is a plus.
• Strategic planning / FPA / budgeting experience is a plus.
• ICP / TPA knowledge and its tax filing knowledge are important.
• People skill and experience are important for working as a team.
• Time management / closing schedule management is essential.
• Project managing skills / experience is important.
• Communication over departments or countries is important. Must keep good relations with SCM, sales, corporate functions and others.
• Other necessary experience/knowledge for this position.
• Mind to acquire new knowledge and create new rule are important.
• Should be a person who can take a chance to improve.
• B to B business or Food manufacturing or Food related industry experience is important.
• Knowledge for import / export business flows and operation flows are essential. Because this company control business in Korea also.
• Experience working in matrix management organization and reporting to both local management team and global/regional function team are important.
• IT knowledge for accounting and general IT knowledge are essential.
• SAP / similar ERP system implementation experience or system development experience is plus. Company will exchange its current systems to SAP in near future.
• Mind for good results and continuous improvement is important.
• Experience in finance operation flow integration or organization integration are plus. Because Company is changing its operation and organization.
• Knowledge of SAP, Plaza, Microsoft Dynamics Navision are plus
• College / Master (Accounting) degree is preferred.
• PC/IT skill is necessary (Excel/PowerPoint, group software, win-PC).
• Language skills – written and verbal in both Japanese and English for day to day business interface are essential.
