Responsibilities
Position Description
The Senior Accountant will lead the basic accounting tasks and support accounting manager by assisting with daily financial operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing basic financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This is an experienced -level position ideal for individuals seeking to demonstrate their accounting skills as well as grow within a dynamic organization in the power trading industry.

Key Role Responsibilities
Mainly responsible for ensuring proper accounting and financial reporting, including effective operations of the general ledger and financial closing:

  • Maintain the financial books and records in accordance with financial reporting standards and statutory requirement, including assessing the impact of changes in accounting standards and ensuring appropriate accounting treatment of the Company's business activities.
  • Perform and monthly closing process to ensure high quality, accurate and timely group and statutory reporting and in compliance to financial reporting standards and statutory requirement
  • Perform reconciliation of accounting to trading systems to ensure the accuracy of accounting ledger
  • Prepare the monthly/quarterly financial reporting packages, and annual financial statements under the financial reporting standards
  • Handling taxation e.g. corporate income tax, consumption tax, business tax to complete filing and accounting journal entry
  • Support audit and review process by external auditors, internal control/audit team
  • Identify opportunities for process and controls improvements and execute them to raise operational efficiency and enhance the quality of financial reporting
  • Support in the implementation of IT initiatives/projects in relation to accounting/tax matters
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the overall Company's goals and objectives are achieved
  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with trading and accounting standards and other compliance requirements

Qualifications
Key Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 - 10 years of accounting and/or tax related working experience
  • Positive, conscientious, hands-on, and self-driven. Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborative and strong team player and thrives on excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English skills preferred) and able to work effectively with people of different culture
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
