Department Overview

Rakuten's IP Contents Business Department, in cooperation with the Rakuten Group's 70+ services and the Rakuten ecosystem, leverages Rakuten's weapons such as its "ability to sell products," "over 100 million customer data," and "networks with various industries," to develop IP content business from various perspectives, including distribution and merchandising of internal and external videos and other copyrighted works (IP). The company is working to create a content IP business that will include distribution, merchandising, and other multifaceted development activities for a variety of IP assets, including videos produced by the Rakuten Group.

This includes not only visual content produced by Rakuten Group, but also movies, TV series, and other visual content owned and managed by outside copyright holders.

Position Details

You will be in charge of IP licenses (including overseas works) that the IP Content Division will acquire in the future, as well as contract negotiations and management for domestic and overseas sales.

Contract negotiations with IP holders, joint ventures, and production committee personnel

Contract negotiations with overseas parties such as rights holders, sales partners, business partners, and group companies

Create, confirm, and conclude contracts in cooperation with the legal department and legal advisors

Supporting media franchise development in collaboration with other divisions and companies

Accounting and tax support as necessary, such as overseas withholding tax and income and expenditure reports

Mandatory Qualifications:

1 year or more of contract-related work experience

Business level of English

Native level of Japanese

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in negotiating contracts with IP holders, publishers, distribution/TV stations, video companies, joint ventures, and production committees

Work experience related to contracts in content business, merchandising business, or IP license business

Those who have a high level of knowledge and interest in IP-related products and services, regardless of genre such as live action, manga, anime, games, sports, fashion, etc .
