Role Overview
RevenueStream is seeking a
Data Scientist
/ ML analyst to support
detection model building and calibration
on-site in Tokyo, collaborating closely with our internal team to fine-tune advanced machine learning models for credit card fraud prevention.
This is an excellent opportunity for a you to contribute directly to mission-critical systems in the financial sector, while working side-by-side with a team building cutting-edge fraud detection technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with RevenueStream's fraud detection team to
calibrate and optimize machine learning models
(LightGBM, CatBoost, Graph Neural Networks). - Implement
walk-forward / rolling daily training and testing methodology
for fraud detection. - Apply techniques such as
feature engineering (time windows, sliding counts), outlier treatment, log transforms, winsorization
, and advanced evaluation methods. - Conduct
hyperparameter optimization
(e.g., with Optuna/GridSearch). - Perform
precision/recall trade-off analysis
and advise on calibration strategies. - Document processes and provide knowledge transfer to internal staff.
Requirements
- Familiarity with
machine learning for fraud detection, credit card transactions, or other high-volume transactional domains. - Strong background in
Python, scikit-learn, LightGBM, CatBoost, PyTorch Geometric (GNNs)
. - Familiarity with
time-series validation, rolling updates, and daily retraining methodologies
. - Experience with
on-premise secure environments
and working with sensitive financial data. - Fluent Japanese or business-level English with conversational Japanese
(English communication acceptable, but ability to work smoothly in a Japanese team environment is important). - Must be available to work
on-site in Tokyo
