, creating opportunities for senior leaders to play a key role in shaping operations and scaling delivery capability.
Role Purpose
This role acts as both a
strategic partner and operational leader
to the Japan Country President. As the Japan business continues to expand its service offering and delivery scope, this individual will lead
operational excellence
, aligned closely with global operations.
A core part of the role is
building and strengthening project delivery capability
, developing team members, and ensuring high-quality execution across client engagements as the organisation moves into its next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and direction to Project Management, Analysis, and Field Operations teams.
- Partner with the Japan Country President on P&L oversight, including participation in quarterly business reviews and monthly leadership meetings.
- Support annual forecasting and business planning processes for the Japan business.
- Work closely with Global Operations leadership to align on best practices, processes, standards, and systems, driving consistency and efficiency across the organisation.
- Collaborate with the Global Client Partnership team and delivery teams to manage senior client relationships, with a focus on client satisfaction and operational quality.
Step in to lead project delivery where Project Directors or Project Managers face capacity constraints. This includes:
Brand performance analysis and hypothesis development
- Sense-checking workbooks and outputs with clients
- Project brief and debrief preparation and refinement
- Delivery of final client presentations
Essential Skills & Experience
- Background in in-house pharmaceutical sales management, marketing leadership, business unit leadership, or management consulting, with strong senior-level client exposure.
- Experience operating at a senior leadership level, including people development, coaching, and performance management.
- Commercially minded and results-focused, with the ability to support business growth and client retention.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to adapt style to different audiences and clearly "tell the story" behind insights.
- Credibility and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders within client organisations.
- Comfortable working independently while leading and developing teams.
- Demonstrates gravitas, judgement, and the ability to challenge constructively and deliver practical solutions.
