Finance Manager

In this role you will lead a dynamic team across manufacturing, research, and commercial operations to drive financial excellence and business growth. This role is pivotal in building robust controllership and FP&A infrastructure, ensuring compliance, and delivering actionable insights through standardized reporting and performance metrics. You will serve as a strategic partner, guiding commercial teams toward ambitious growth targets while maintaining strong governance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Japan Finance operations, overseeing:
• Manufacturing site in Kozuki
• Technical research lab in Kobe
• Commercial teams in Tokyo
• Provide strategic finance leadership to support business objectives and growth.
• Develop and strengthen controllership infrastructure to ensure robust financial governance.
• Establish and implement key operating metrics to monitor performance and drive efficiency.
• Build FP&A capabilities, leading the preparation and delivery of quarterly estimates, projections, and business analysis.
• Integrate Japan finance processes with global standards, including:
• Standardized financial reporting and metrics
• Driving commercial teams toward growth targets
• Maintaining VCP (Variable Cost Productivity) focus at the manufacturing plant
• Ensure full controllership for Momentive Technologies in Japan, including:
• Managing accounting services and financial operations
• Active participation in Japan finance councils
• Ensuring compliance with local statutory accounting and tax regulations

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• 8+ years of progressive financial experience
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
• Excellent English communication skills
• Knowledge of Japan and US GAAP
• Demonstrated ability to drive change
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong controllership mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with diverse teams
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Creative and innovative problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Experience in a public corporation
