About the Role
The Manager of Finance and Accounting is responsible for managing the finance and accounting departments, providing financial insights and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting laws and company policies, and participating in budgeting processes. This role is pivotal in supporting strategic decisions and managing the company's financial integrity. This role combines leadership in both finance and accounting activities, aiming to optimize the organization's financial performance and strategic position.
Business level or above in both Japanese and English, native level fluency in either language is highly preferred.
Working hours will be 9:30am-18:15pm.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the finance and accounting departments, ensuring that the financial infrastructure is robust and supports the business's strategic aims.
- Manage the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Supervise and participate in preparing budgets and financial forecasts; review budget proposals; and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
- Provide analytical support for projects and strategic initiatives. Perform financial analysis, reporting, and management of risks associated with business performance.
- Coordinate and lead annual audits. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the audit process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in a financial management role with a thorough understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
- Experience in managing audits, budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, and tax preparation.
- Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- Certifications: CPA, CFA, or similar certification
- Business level or above in both Japanese and English, native level fluency in either language is highly preferred.
