Ahead Staffing is seeking a Mid-Level Android Developer to join the mobile development team for one of our Global E-Commerce clients. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining high-quality Android applications, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver new features with a focus on performance, quality, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Implement applications using MVVM architecture and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Integrate applications with RESTful APIs using Retrofit.
  • Write and maintain unit tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of the application.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in development practices.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in Android app development, with at least one published Android app.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Solid understanding of MVVM architecture and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and third-party libraries, especially Retrofit.
  • Proficiency with version control tools, such as Git.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks and maintaining code quality.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • Solid understanding of the mobile development lifecycle and general mobile landscape.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
  • Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a multinational environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Japanese language proficiency is a plus.
