The Compliance Division plays a vital role in supporting Rakuten Mobile, Japan's 4th new mobile carrier. This division is responsible for compliance support and undertakes various corporate operations under applicable laws, including governance, intellectual property rights, legal, and risk control. The team collaborates closely with key personnel, including officers, to share experiences and best practices related to these activities.
The Legal Department provides essential legal support for Rakuten Mobile, focusing on resolving diverse legal matters between consumers, vendors, and business partners within the telecommunications industry. We seek an individual who can tackle multiple legal challenges efficiently and effectively with a challenge spirit.
In the field of B2C businesses, we require experienced professionals who can handle various legal matters related to sales and marketing activities, such as terms and conditions, privacy policies, and consumer protection guidelines set by the Japanese government. For B2B businesses, candidates must have expertise in contract review and negotiation with overseas vendors.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented lawyer to join our team due to the increasing demand for legal support, including contract review, standard terms and conditions, campaign rules, and dispute resolution services. With the growth of subscription numbers and service expansion, we need someone to review contracts with overseas vendors and provide high-quality legal counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct contract reviews and provide legal advice
- Collaborate with project teams for legal analysis and studies
- Review schemes for new products and services
- Develop and maintain terms and conditions, privacy policies, and other contractual agreements
- Handle lawsuits and disputes
Work Environment:
The Legal Support Section consists of two groups: the S&M legal group focuses on B2C area support, while the Network legal group handles B2B area support. Our team has 18 staff members, including secretaries, with a relatively high female ratio and female-majority management. Depending on your experience, you will be assigned to either group or work on both B2C and B2B legal issues.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of in-house legal experience
- Alternatively, 3 years of law office attorney experience (para-legal staff experience negotiable)
- English contract review experience, especially for the Network legal group
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Telecommunication Business Act
- Experience working in mobile carriers, vendors, or B2C Business companies
- Japan or overseas lawyer qualification
Location:
Rakuten Crimson House serves as our main office, but Higashi-Shinjuku office is also available for work.
