We are currently seeking a highly skilled Project Manager – Data Center Renovation (Japan) to support one of our esteemed clients.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in a technical interview, and therefore strong hands-on experience with the relevant technologies and data center environments is essential.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data center renovation initiatives across two data centers in Japan.
This role involves managing infrastructure relocation, renovation activities, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted data center operations.
Work Schedule & LocationWorking Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Japan Standard Time)
Work Arrangement:
Onsite presence preferred
Flexibility to distribute 5 working days across:
Otemachi office
Project Locations
Primary Office:
Otemachi, Tokyo
Contract & Compensation
Expected Total Contract Period:
Minimum 4 years
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end data center renovation activities
Coordinate machine movement to swing spaces and oversee demolition and reconstruction
Track renovation progress and ensure adherence to schedules
Coordinate resources, vendors, and deliveries on migration days
Liaise with internal ID teams for migration planning (migration execution is handled by other teams)
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Skills
5–10 years of relevant project management experience
Strong background in data centers (preferred) or finance environments
Fluent Japanese required to manage local vendors and engineers
Strong project management skills with hands-on experience using Microsoft Project
PMP, ITIL, or similar certifications are a plus
Industry Experience
Most Critical:
Colocation (Colo) / Data Center environments
Preferred:
Finance sector experience
Interview Process
Round 1:
Technical interview focusing on data center operations, resiliency, and equipment installation
Round 2:
Japanese language proficiency assessment
Initial screening includes technical questions related to data center infrastructure and processes
