The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Head of Natural Resources & Construction, Asia, as well as the Head of Japan.

Some Of Your Specific Responsibilities Could Include

• Assess, underwrite and manage a portfolio of commercial Natural Resources & Construction insurance risks in accordance with company guidelines and Japan market regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers in the Japanese market.
• Provide and support the team with technical expertise and market insights.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams on complex and/or special risks.
• Prepare documentation and reports, and ensure records are accurately maintained and well-organized.
• Analyze and interpret market trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Support the team's stability through effective planning and organization of work.

What You'll Bring To The Role

• Proven experience in the commercial insurance industry, with strong ability to accurately interpret and analyze insurance policy wordings in both English (required) and Japanese (preferred).
• Solid background in underwriting or handling insurance for domestic and/or international power generation facilities, as well as related construction and engineering projects.
• Strong understanding and insight into the Japanese insurance business, including major players in the construction and power sector as well as market situation.
• Proactive approach to business development, with the ability to identify opportunities, engage potential clients, and drive new business initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
• Language skills:
• English: Business-level proficiency required for effective communication with stakeholders and for managing documentation.
• Japanese: Intermediate-level* proficiency preferred.
• If current proficiency is below this level, you will be expected to improve it after joining the company.
• Proficiency in AI skills: The ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making is valuable.
