We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Sales Manager who will look after our Energy and Process Systems (EPS) business segment in Iberia, focusing on industries such as: Power Generation, Decarbonization, Power-to-X, Chemicals/plastic recycling, Biogas, BioFuels, LNG, Oil&Gas for End-Users and EPCs on greenfield & brownfield projects —combining technical expertise with value-driven sales strategies.
Primary location for you to be based would be Ovar (Portugal) however we are considering other Valmet locations, such as Bilbao and Madrid (Spain).
Your responsibilities
- Manage the Automation System solution business in the EPS market, focusing on Distributed Control Systems and other products. Drive value-adding sales by understanding customer needs and differentiating with Performance Solution offerings. Collaborate with the Business Unit to develop compelling value propositions.
- Support the Head of EPS in defining and implementing the EPS growth strategy, including actionable plans for business strategy execution.
- Lead direct and indirect sales processes to meet or exceed sales targets. This includes securing opportunities to quote, obtaining orders from existing and potential customers, and organizing customer visits.
- Conduct market research to identify new EPS customers and business opportunities. Stay informed on product launches and competitive landscape.
- Analyze technical DCS enquiries and define scope and sales solutions in collaboration with Product Home.
- Collaborate with the Service organization to ensure EPS service business growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE, legal, and internal Valmet rules and procedures.
Who is the candidate we are looking for
- Degree in Engineering: Automation, Electrical or related area.
- Solid experience in Automation Sales development.
- Solid knowledge of DCS architecture analysis, Process Automation system knowhow and application.
- Ability to implement sales strategies.
- Knowledge in Legal process analysis, discussion and contract negotiation.
- Fluent English (mandatory) and Portuguese or Spanish (mandatory).
- Good presentation and negotiation skills.
- Availability to travel at least 50% of your working time across Portugal and Spain.
