Senior Analyst, Insurance Ratings

The Location:

You will be part of a closely knit, and high-performance team (about 15 members in the Financial Institution Ratings Team)

The Impact:
You will provide key stakeholders with our value-added "credit story" on insurance sector through clear opinions and strong analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing pertinent information and data necessary for determining ratings on insurance companies and their debt issues
  • Making recommendations and presenting to rating committees
  • Drafting press releases, company-specific reports, and industry commentaries in a fast-paced environment with publication deadlines
  • Effectively communicating to clients S&P's methodologies and rating rationale
  • Continuous monitoring of operating performance of rated companies, including reviews of public filings and private information supplied by issuers
  • Meeting with external stakeholders such as issuers, investors and arrangers on analytical matters
  • Contributing to S&P's global and regional analytical sectoral forums, and authoring sector-related commentaries
  • Adhering to the internal guidelines, procedures and policies
  • Supporting projects related to the improvement of criteria, quality, process and tools.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or higher degree. Actuarial background, CFA or CPA is a plus
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in financial industry –in particular insurance industry
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills and accounting knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including business level English
  • A demonstrated ability to give effective verbal presentations to senior executives
  • A highly motivated team player who can work autonomously in a global, multi-cultural and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to undertake rigorous analytical work and to write analytical reports
