Sydell Group is seeking a NoMad Technical Services Director – Asia Pacific to support the design, development and technical execution of NoMad projects across Asia-Pacific. Reporting to the Senior Technical Services Director, this role will be instrumental in translating NoMad's creative vision into built form, ensuring design excellence, technical rigor and operational readiness across the region.

This is a unique opportunity for a technically strong, design-literate professional with regional experience to help deliver culturally resonant, bespoke hotels while coordinating closely with Sydell's US-based leadership and global creative teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Development Execution

• Support the end-to-end design and technical services process for NoMad projects across APAC, working in close collaboration with internal creative leadership, architects and specialist consultants.
• Ensure all projects align with NoMad's brand standards while remaining sensitive to local culture, context and regulatory environments.
• Assist in translating conceptual design intent into executable technical documentation and on-site delivery.

Project & Technical Management

• Act as a key technical liaison between ownership, design teams, consultants and operators throughout design development, construction and pre-opening phases.
• Participate in regular project meetings and site visits to monitor progress, identify risks and ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
• Support value engineering exercises without compromising design integrity or brand intent.

Brand & Creative Integration

• Work closely with Sydell's Global Creative Director and internal brand teams to integrate NoMad's creative narrative into all technical and design decisions.
• Coordinate with F&B, wellness and programming teams to ensure seamless integration of signature concepts into the built environment.

Operational Readiness

• Collaborate with pre-opening and operations teams to support smooth handover from construction to operations.
• Assist with FF&E, OS&E, back-of-house planning and operational workflows to ensure long-term functionality and performance.

Regional & Global Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Sydell's US-based leadership, including participation in calls during US business hours as needed.
• Serve as a regional bridge between APAC ownership groups and Sydell's global teams to ensure consistent execution and communication.

Qualifications
Experience

• 5 to 8 years of experience in hotel development, technical services, design management or a related discipline, preferably within luxury, lifestyle or boutique hospitality.

Skills

• Strong technical and project management capabilities with a refined sensitivity to design and brand detail.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working across cultures, time zones and organizational structures.
• Familiarity with luxury hospitality trends, high-end F&B concepts and mixed-use developments is a plus.

Language & Location

• Japanese language proficiency strongly preferred.
• Tokyo-based candidates preferred, with flexibility to travel extensively across APAC.
• Ability to work US hours as needed for coordination with Sydell's US-based team.

Education

• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Hospitality or a related field preferred.

Travel

• Willingness to travel regularly throughout Asia-Pacific and occasionally to the US.
