Position Overview
The CEO will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of a licensed virtual currency exchange in Japan. This role demands exceptional leadership, a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with regulators, financial partners, and internal teams to ensure sustainable growth within Japan's regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee the company's overall operations, strategy, and financial performance.
- Ensure full compliance with all JFSA and JVCEA regulatory standards.
- Act as the primary liaison with Japanese regulators and financial institutions.
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with market conditions and compliance requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Risk, and Compliance) to achieve organizational goals.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and regulatory integrity.
- Represent the company in external communications, partnerships, and industry forums.
Minimum Requirements
- Japanese nationality or permanent residency (required for regulatory engagement).
- At least 10 years of experience in finance, fintech, or crypto asset management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a regulated financial or technology organization.
- Comprehensive understanding of Japan's Payment Services Act and crypto exchange regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Strategic mindset combined with hands-on operational expertise.
