Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support data centre construction activities in Japan.
This role will provide both strategic and hands-on EHS leadership across project sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations while aligning with global EHS standards and company expectations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage EHS activities across construction projects, ensuring compliance with local legislation, industry standards, and internal requirements.
Provide guidance and oversight on safe work practices throughout all phases of project delivery, including construction, commissioning, and building services activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain risk assessments, EHS management plans, and site procedures.Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and track corrective actions to completion.
Monitor and report on EHS performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
Collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to promote a proactive and culturally aligned safety culture.
Requirements
Proven experience in an EHS management or leadership role within construction, infrastructure, or a related industry.
Strong understanding of EHS regulatory frameworks and practical application in a project-based environment.
Experience working in complex, high-risk construction settings; exposure to data centres, building services, or commissioning activities is advantageous.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate effectively in multicultural teams.
Ability to work independently while contributing to broader regional and global objectives.
Fluency in Japanese and English is highly desirable.
