This is a full-time, on-site Compliance Specialist role based in Shinjuku-ku, with a strong focus on back-end HR compliance and people operations.
The Compliance Specialist will play a key role in ensuring Mediabound's compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and internal HR policies, while also supporting company-wide regulatory compliance.
This position works closely with HR, operations, and leadership and is essential to building a stable, ethical, and scalable organization within a fast-paced, global startup environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with Japanese labor laws, employment regulations, and HR-related legal requirements
Manage and maintain HR-related regulatory documentation, including employment contracts, work rules, and internal policies
Develop, implement, and monitor internal HR compliance frameworks and procedures
Track regulatory updates and proactively assess their impact on company operations
Identify and mitigate compliance risks related to workforce management, working hours, and employee relations
Provide compliance guidance and training to managers and employees
Support internal audits and respond to labor or compliance-related inquiries
Collaborate closely with HR, operations, and leadership teams
Coordinate with external professionals such as labor consultants and legal advisors when necessary
Qualifications
Proven experience in Compliance Management, with a strong emphasis on HR and labor compliance
Solid knowledge of Japanese labor laws and employment regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Professional-level Japanese and English (both written and spoken) is required
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, HR, or a related field
Professional certifications related to compliance, labor law, or HR are a plus
Experience in the tourism, service, or hospitality industry is an advantage
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly valued
Compensation
Monthly salary:
¥250,000 – ¥450,000
Compensation is based on experience, skills, and performance

日本の労働法令・雇用関連法規に基づくコンプライアンス管理
就業規則、雇用契約書、社内規程などHR関連書類の管理・整備
人事・労務領域における内部コンプライアンス体制の構築・運用
法改正・規制動向のモニタリングおよび社内への反映
労務・人事リスクの洗い出しと改善提案
社員・マネージャー向けのコンプライアンス指導・教育
内部監査や労務関連の問い合わせ対応
HR、オペレーション、経営陣との連携
社労士・弁護士など外部専門家との調整・折衝
応募資格(必須)
コンプライアンス管理の実務経験(特に人事・労務領域)
日本の労働法・雇用関連法規に関する知識
論理的思考力・課題解決力

法務、人事、経営、または関連分野の学士号
