Business Overview
The Technology Platforms Division (TPD) is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure and ecosystem platforms that power the Rakuten Group. Our goal is to provide Rakuten Cloud and Ecosystem Platforms that deliver Core Value to boost the growth of Rakuten Group services.
Department Overview
The Data Platform Department (DPD) is constructing an enterprise data platform for Rakuten Group. The platform aims to automate processes related to data ingestion, discovery, governance, and querying, while also supporting Rakuten's transition to a fully data-driven approach across more than 70 services.
The team designs and creates internal products for Data Platform users, including managing Rakuten's internal Data Governance tool, Data Catalog management tool, ETL development tool, Core framework for data ingestion, and Science Platform.
Overall Position Details
As a Product Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of our products by supporting the product management team across various activities throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, conducting market research, and contributing to the product strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on market research, customer feedback, and business objectives.
- Assist in market analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Help prioritize and manage the product backlog to ensure alignment with the product vision and strategy.
- Contribute to user research and feedback collection to enhance the product's user experience.
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay informed about industry trends to identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to evaluate product performance.
- Prepare product documentation such as user guides, release notes, and presentations.
- Collaborate with the development team throughout the product development process, providing guidance on requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Product management experience (4 years+)
- Experience and interpersonal skills (2 years+)
- Attention to detail (2 years+)
- Knowledge of product management concepts, methodologies, and tools (4 years+)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with product management tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana (2 years+)
- Experience with Cloud Platform products (2 years+)
