The Wall Street Journal seeks an experienced full-time translation editor for its Japanese-language edition, JWSJ. You will be part of a team offering WSJ's unique perspective and sophisticated Japanese translation for a discerning audience. Stories appear on platforms of media partners, including Japan's largest media outlets.
Responsibilities:
* Translate and edit stories on business, finance, and international affairs into refined Japanese.
* Curate the JWSJ site for relevant content in a timely manner.
* Maximize content reach through presentation on external platforms, including social media.
* Be a team player.
Requirements:
* Excellent English and Japanese language skills.
* Strong news judgment and knowledge of finance, business, and international affairs.
* At least several years of experience translating English-language news stories into Japanese.
* Knowledge of digital and social media skills and an open mind to new technology, including machine translation.
