Job Title: Full-Time Translation Editor for Japanese-Language Edition

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced translator and editor to join its team in Tokyo.

You will be responsible for translating and editing news stories from English into refined Japanese, as well as curating the JWSJ website and coming up with ideas to maximize content reach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate and edit business, finance, and international affairs stories into Japanese
  • Curate the JWSJ site to ensure timely and relevant content
  • Develop ideas to increase content reach on external platforms

Requirements:

  • Excellent English and Japanese language skills
  • Strong news judgment and knowledge of finance and business
  • At least several years of experience translating English-language news stories into Japanese

Preferred Location: Tokyo

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
