As the Data Center Forensic Manager based in Japan, you will report to the Associate Director, Forensic Engineering based in Sydney and member of the Operations Leadership team, you will have overall responsibility and leadership of technical analysis and issue resolution, making your mark in a number of ways:

• Own the forensic response to critical incidents across the portfolio, ensuring both internal and external partners are suitably engaged to achieve speed of recovery.
• Through leadership, own and drive a culture of continual improvement derived from a focus on reliability from both technical and operational perspectives.
• Instill leadership and accountability of SME's to deliver consistency and accuracy of response during incident scenarios.
• Responsible for ensuring lessons learnt through RCA's and operational analytics result in targeted uplift to designs and work practices as required business-wide.

Your Day to Day

• Lead critical issue management and root cause analysis associated with equipment failure in real time.
• Review equipment and system performance data to identify issues through trend analysis.
• Undertake forensic analysis of infrastructure with a view to increase reliability through engineering and operational solutions
• Validate data center performance, system control parameters and operational efficiency against design intent and determine quantifiable deviations.
• Assists in the solving of issues in the field, remotely or in person.
• Review compliance with existing corrective and preventative maintenance program to improve operational readiness.
• Analyze full time employee and vendor staffing to include training, procedures, and site requirements as part of root cause analysis.
• Drive a proactive lesson learned analysis and resolution across multiple business streams such as design, construction, and operations to identify and mitigate operating risks.
• Assist in new market due diligence activities
• Other duties as the need arises

Requirements- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering experience is helpful
- Strong technical background and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Proficient and practical understanding of the role ITIL plays in the management of building services within a data centre
- Excellent understanding of data centre operations and processes
- Strong project management skills with experience managing dispersed teams and organisational change
- An excellent communicator with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical team members
- Have a sense of urgency commensurate with handling a priority/severity incident in a 24x7 environment
- Analyse sophisticated problems, identify root causes, develop and implement effective solutions
- Proficient interpersonal skills (written, verbal, and presentation) in both English and Japanese (JLPT N2+ equivalent).
Ability to travel within Japan <25%, international travel required as the need arises
