Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Japanese-English over-the-phone interpreter (OPI) and video remote interpreter (VRI) to join our team at Future Group. As a professional remote interpreter, you will provide accurate communication between non-English and English speakers during calls.
In this role, you will work in various industries and fields, including healthcare and medical ones. To ensure transparency during conversations, you must be aware of specific vocabulary related to these industries.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
- Take notes during calls, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Be prepared to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Render all messages accurately and completely, without additions, omissions, or substitutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.
- Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by rendering accurate and complete interpretations.
- Participate in internal professional training and stay up-to-date on industry standards.
Requirements
- Fluency in English (source language) and native proficiency in Japanese (target language).
- At least 1 year of experience as an over-the-phone interpreter in a reputable company.
- Good knowledge of medical terminology is a plus but not mandatory.
- Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.
- International certifications in the healthcare industry, such as PICSI, ALTA, or HIPAA, are highly valued.
- High school diploma in your native language.
- Excellent emotional intelligence, tolerance for different cultures, and strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.

Estimated Salary:
$40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
