This role involves leading team of engineers from Onsite and Offshore location to meet OEM programs milestones and cross-functional activities ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Extensive experience in BEV/HEV/FHEV battery packs primarily thermal management components
Specialized in Battery packaging, battery cooling system design and integration.
Skilled in Battery systems, Bus bar, connectors, wiring harness, Plastics/sheet metal component design using CATIA.
Experience in Strength simulation (Catia Simulation)
Proficient in passenger car Battery thermal system new layout design & Integration
Expertise in Battery Thermal simulations
Strong knowledge in tooling, manufacturing & assembly process for thermal system
Proven track record in supplier management, including technical clarifications and process improvements.
Technical know-how in 1D simulation and CFD simulation for pressure drops and flow optimization in cooling systems.
Work experience with automotive OEMs in Japan
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design programs from concept to SOP for BEV/HEV/FHEV drivetrains.
Develop and manage program plans covering scope, schedule and resources to meet OEM milestones.
Track progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Act as the main contact for clients and stakeholders across design, strength and CFD simulations.
Summarize and communicate OEM requirements and report evaluation status to stakeholders.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage cost, weight and optimization.
Oversee subsystem integration, ensuring assembly feasibility and serviceability with OEM teams.
Resolve issues related to data loss, resource/tools, and test failures.
Prepare and present design reviews, technical reports, and status updates.
Maintain strong client relationships and proactively identify new opportunities.
Drive best practices and continuous improvement across onsite and offshore teams.
