Field Service Engineer II — Thermo Fisher Scientific
About The Role
As a Field Service Engineer II, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced analytical instruments, including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and AA systems. You will support customers in research, industrial, and healthcare environments by delivering high-quality technical service and contributing to improved instrument performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install analytical instruments and provide operational training
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance
- Conduct system validation, inspection, and performance checks
- Prepare detailed service reports and communicate field feedback
- Support service process improvements and internal knowledge sharing
- Propose service contracts, paid repairs, and upgrade solutions
- Collaborate closely with customers, internal teams, and partners
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields
- Experience as a service engineer or analytical instrument user preferred
- Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read English technical manuals
- Ability to travel 50–75% and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability across different products
