Job Description
Join the platform team of Japan's leading BNPL service. The company is known for building innovative, cardless payment solutions that provide "instant magic" for consumers and merchants. As a remote-first engineer, you will scale the company's ecosystem to support a rapidly growing user base while maintaining a high bar for simplicity and performance.
Main Responsibilities
- Consumer Product:
Build and evolve the company's consumer-facing SPA and mobile app for managing payments and credit. - Merchant Tools:
Develop frictionless front-end experiences for online merchants to manage the company's integrations. - Internal Admin:
Architect complex internal tools used to investigate transactions, manage settlements, and monitor system health. - Systems Engineering:
Instrument systems with monitoring and alerting to ensure high availability and responsiveness. - Collaboration:
Partner with product, design, and infrastructure teams to turn wireframes into pixel-perfect UIs.
Required Skills
- React Native & React:
Expert-level proficiency in building "buttery smooth" UIs for both web and mobile platforms. - Native Integration:
Experience leveraging native APIs and familiarity with build tools like
Xcode and Gradle
. - Modern Stack:
Deep knowledge of ES6, Redux, Flow/TypeScript, and Webpack. - Software Excellence:
A high bar for clean, maintainable, and testable code within a large, multi-stakeholder codebase. - UX Mindset:
Ability to make design proposals via sketches and mockups; you care deeply about performance and accessibility.
Good to Have Skills
- Fintech Experience:
Previous work with financial, payment, or banking products. - B2C Expertise:
Experience building high-traffic, consumer-facing user experiences. - Generalist Mentality:
A willingness to work across the stack to solve bottlenecks and delight users.
