仕事内容
先進炉プラントのうち、特に「高速炉」において、原子炉内検査装置には可視光の通らない液体金属中での画像化が求められます。当社では超音波を用いたナトリウム中可視化装置の開発を進めており、その中で、開発設計(センサ、駆動機構等の基本設計等)の推進、ならびに、設計データを取得するための試験および設計検証のための試験、に関する計画策定・その推進を担当して頂きます。
各検査装置に関して、所定の性能を発揮することの検証試験(計画策定から結果の分析まで)等を行い、保全分野担当としてプラントの基本計画の作り込みを担っていきます。この作業過程において、客先ニーズと当社シーズの擦り合わせ、社内の詳細設計部門及び製作・現地工事・品証の社内各部門との調整ほか、検査技術だけでなく、プラント全般について理解を深めることができます。
仕事や部署の魅力
最近話題のカーボンニュートラルを実現するために、当社では既存の原子力発電はもちろん、社会的必要性が高まる「高速炉」「高温ガス炉(水素製造)」「核融合炉」「マイクロ炉」といった、いわゆる「先進炉の開発」に取り組んでいます。
当課は、そんな先進炉プラントの開発を、部内のプロジェクトグループと連携して推進しています。当課は社内において、プラントの運転開始に向けた技術上の最上流に位置しており、今後建設されるプラントの基本仕様を定めるため、プロジェクト全体を左右する重要な役割を担います。責任も大きいですが、自身のアイディアを機器の概念・設計に反映し、それを詳細設計部門と共に具現化していく、"技術者として非常にやりがいの感じられる業務"です。
機器の概念を設定していく際には、既存のR&D成果を分析しつつ周囲の技術者と議論を重ねるため、"オープンで活気ある職場"です。また、機器の設計成立性を広い視点から評価することが求められるため、原子力・機械・熱・構造・材料等、専門性の高い社内関係者(総研、詳細設計部門、製作部門他)から知見を借りるなかで、自身の"技術力向上が実感しやすい"のも当課の魅力の一つです。
最近では、開発を国際協力(例えば、高速炉における仏・米、高温ガス炉における英、核融合におけるITER計画への参画)で推進する機運が高まっており、国内だけでなく海外にも活躍の場が広がっています。
