Recruiting staff for our new branch opening in August
We are looking to fill a part time teaching position for a new school branch opening in Shintomicho starting in August. We hope to hire an enthusiastic and motivated teacher who has a passion to teach children and become part of our Smile Club family Students are also welcome to apply
School introduction
Smile Club was established in 2002 as an afterschool English program and expanded to Pre-school & Kindergarten in 2006. The company went on to establish two other nurseries (government registered Japanese nurseries) in 2013 & 2014.
Smile Club is an international Pre-school, Kindergarten & Afterschool English school located in Sarue, Koto-ku, Tokyo (Nearest station: Sumiyoshi-Hanzomon Line / Toei-Shinjuku Line).
In August 2024, we are looking to further expand and open a new English branch in Shintomicho (Nearest station: Hatchobori & Shintomicho Station)
At our school we have students from 1 year 8 months up to 6 years of age for our Pre-school and Kindergarten classes and 2-year-olds ~Elementary school age students in our Afternoon classes.
The school curriculum is revised on a yearly basis and the teacher in-charge can revise the curriculum and structure of lessons in accordance to the age and level of their students.
Application requirements
Currently residing in Tokyo (and / or planning to move to Tokyo within 3 months' time.)
Have a valid working visa (Validity period of over 6 months or more)
Commitment to work for at least one whole school year
Having some special skill/talent (may be given special consideration but not a requirement)– Special skills may include: Ability to play a musical instrument, dance & performing skills, video editing skills etc.,
Working days
Monday-Friday (and / or Saturdays)
※ Some school events may be held on weekends and national holidays.
Working hours- dependent on the class you are assigned.
Pre-school & Kindergarten class times: 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. / 2:45 p.m.
Afternoon class times: 2:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. / 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday class time: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Days off -2 days a week.
In case of working on Saturdays you will get a weekday off instead.
Salary
Hourly salary: JPY1,200-JPY1,600/hour (JPY1,200/hour in case of no prior teaching experience)
※ Transportation cost will be reimbursed. (Limit: JPY 15,000 / month)
The first 3 months will be considered a training period (on probation).
After the end of the 3-month probationary period - depending on performance and quality of work, salary will be made negotiable and option of a full-time position may be provided.
