Role Description
We are recruiting highly motivated, flexible and customer-oriented EFL teachers to teach kindergarten, elementary school students or junior high school or high school students at our Iidabashi or Musashi-Kosugi Teaching Centres.
The role involves in supporting the British Council's global English strategy by delivering high-quality English language teaching that meets both learner needs and organisational standards.
In this role, you'll be expected to complete administrative tasks efficiently, while building and maintaining strong relationships with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders
Essentials
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree (in any discipline),
Cambridge CELTA or Trinity certificate, TESOL
High proficiency in English, i.e.
full mastery of English across all 4 skills equivalent to user (CEFR C2) IELTS Band 8 or 9 in each of the four sections of the academic module.
2 years post-certificate experience (or equivalent to 1,200 hours).Experience teaching in one or several of the following age groups:
Early Years aged 3 to hours)
Primary aged 6 to hours)
Lower Secondary aged 11 to hours)
Upper Secondary aged 15 to hours)
Desirables
TYLEC, YL extension to CELTA, PGCE or equivalent CELTA Pass A/B
Cambridge DELTA/Trinity Diploma or equivalent
Experience teaching phonics
Important Information
Salary: 4,484 yen/hour for teachers with a CELTA or equivalent; 4,993 yen/hour for teachers with a DELTA or equivalent. (Payment for preparation for lessons and marking is included in the hourly rate and will not be paid separately)
