As an Account Manager based in Osaka, you will be responsible for the Kansai region. Your role will involve handling a range of products in the fields of molecular biology, cell culture, and cell analysis under the invitrogen, Gibco, and Nunc brands, along with plastic consumables and small research equipment. Your clients will mainly be from academia, but also include ventures, small and medium-sized enterprises, and hospitals. Building relationships with partners is crucial as sales are mainly conducted through contract dealers. This will require regular visits to partners and organizing product training sessions. You will collaborate not only with fellow reagent salespeople but also with salespeople dedicated to large equipment.
Your daily tasks will focus on negotiations with customers on-site or via web meetings. You will be involved in activities such as introducing new products, switching customers from competitors, conducting demonstrations of small equipment, and handling deliveries. Technical support and academic follow-ups are available internally when needed. Additionally, submitting sales forecasts, attending regular meetings, and undergoing new product training are also part of the job.
Depending on your location, business trips involving overnight stays may be required. You may also need to visit the Tokyo headquarters regularly.
Requirements
- Excellent presentation skills, both orally and in writing
- Effective communication skills via phone, email, and web conferences
- Ability to negotiate friendly and effectively with internal and external parties
- Customer-centric mindset and proactive approach
- Basic PC skills (email, Office, BI analysis software)
- Driver's license
