Job Description:
As a Product Manager in the Equities Front Office Technology team in Japan, you will work in a fast-paced team setting, alongside industry experts. You will be an expert in cross-functional, end-to-end design, development and delivery of principal trading product in Japan. You will face of with stakeholder groups that include senior management/desk heads, traders, compliance, operations, risk, developers, QA and system support personnel to scope, develop, test, deploy and support enhancements to existing equity trading systems and green field builds. You will work with the key stakeholders to maintain and prioritize the book-of-work, ensure the Development team is adhering to delivery milestones and help support the systems and enhancements as they go live.
What you'll bring with You:
- Experience working with Principal trading desk(s) in Japan, taking requirements from traders and compliance and operations, drafting requirements for developers, managing delivery of new product, working with QA to define testing requirements.
- Knowledge of guaranteed basket trading, index arbitrage, ADR conversion, ETFs, facilitation trading, hedging with JPY stocks and hedging with JPY underlying futures and options listed in Japan.
- Knowledge of Japanese trading regulations
- Japanese and English language skills required
- Able to draft system requirements in English
- Knowledge of booking to back office systems and use of FOBO (Front Office Back Office) reconciliations by Operations to identify trade breaks
- Experience with different risk checks on trading, such as notional limits, long vs short sell marking, etc.
- Knowledge of margin trading by a principal desk
- Familiarity with position management requirements
- Knowledge of stabilization trading
- SQ date trading of listed futures and options
- Automated corporate action adjustments of positions
- Dividend revision PnL
- Provision of theoretical values for valuing derivative positions
- Valuation of ETFs/ETNs at iNAV instead of last price
- Risk management requirements
Responsibilities:
- Program management, product management, and project management for the design, delivery and ongoing support for Japanese equities trading by a Japanese broker dealer
- Running large programs with senior management, front office, operations, technology, and compliance participants requiring detailed interaction with technical staff and senior business management to keep project on track.
- Drafting requirements documents for business, compliance, risk, technology, operations stakeholder groups approvals that are then used by technology to draft technical requirements.
- Supporting products after going live
- Will have direct communication with trading desks, End to End Workflows, Lifecycle risk management, Operations, Middle Office, Reg/Compliance, as well as various internal technology teams to support current businesses and build out new application/system/modules.
- Align projects and communication into project plans and resolve conflicts and escalate when needed.
- Work with others in this discipline on cross-team initiatives
- Stand-up work items and team management structure for development and support of technology platforms
- Understand trader challenges and issues; document resolution options and go forward plans.
- Work with other related and wider technology teams within Jefferies
- Conduct detailed analyses to draw conclusions and develop pertinent and insightful recommendations.
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership
- Provide status reporting to management and business partners.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree is a plus but not required.
