Business Overview

Credit cards, electronic money, and web/app-based payment systems have become an inseparable part of our lives. Rakuten Card boasts over 30 million cards issued and has achieved the No.1 position in credit card shopping transaction volume in Japan (on a self-issued basis)*1. Even as an industry leader, we continue to grow without slowing down, setting ambitious goals known as "Triple 3" (30 million credit cards issued, 30 trillion yen in shopping transaction volume, and 30% market share in the card industry).

Department Overview

The System Management Group's mission is to provide reliable information for management decision-making through budget planning and performance management for Rakuten Card's entire system. We conduct our work not only focusing on superficial figures but also considering the overall understanding of the system and medium- to long-term plans.

Why We Hire

As IT department activities become more complex and large-scale, it is essential to optimally allocate limited resources and maximize return on investment. We aim to support short-, medium-, and long-term strategic decision-making for IT investments and contribute to strengthening the organization's overall competitiveness by promoting cost reduction and efficiency.

Position Details

  • Planning and management of annual budget for the IT department
  • Cost estimation, budget allocation, and progress management for IT projects
  • Preparation and presentation of budget reports to management
  • Management of vendor contracts and procurement processes
  • Analysis and evaluation of ROI (Return on Investment) for IT investments
  • Strategic planning and execution for cost reduction

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Practical experience in IT budget management or financial management (3 years or more)
  • Experience using budget management tools
  • Basic IT knowledge (fundamental understanding of IT infrastructure and system development)
  • Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • Finance-related certifications (e.g., Bookkeeping Level 2, CPA, CFA, etc.)
  • IT-related certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISA, etc.)
  • Data analysis skills (e.g., SQL, Python, R, etc.)
  • English proficiency (when communicating with overseas vendors or global teams)
  • Financial management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.)
  • Data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • IT asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Snow, etc.)
