BCEI Japan is looking for an experienced Scheduler to join our Japan team. This role plays a pivotal part in providing schedule management and support, on live construction projects while also using pre-construction design information and documents to develop tender schedules for upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the schedule using either Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Provide detailed support and assistance to the construction team, including interacting with contractors to determine actual progress and proposed construction plans and methodology.
- Prepare delay analysis reports internally and to external clients when required.
- Propose schedule recovery strategies and delay mitigation measures.
- Produce schedules, reports, extracts, filtered schedules, short term schedules.
- Communicate with vendors to determine up to lead in periods and delivery dates.
- Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Minimum experience of 7 years and above in scheduling/planning experience, possibly with exposure to mission-critical facilities such as data centres.
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in planning and executing large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, engineering principles, and project lifecycles
- Experience of working with General Contractors in a project management, or scheduler/planner capacity
- Advanced training in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (written and verbal) – essential for liaising with internal teams, global counterparts, and local contractors
- Experience in delay analysis and mitigation planning
- Able to work independently and as part of a high-performing, collaborative team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
