JOB PURPOSE :

As the Sr. Manager of Pricing you are responsible for providing a consistent approach and strategic thought for the pricing and approval of Asurion products. You will own the pricing process and developing strategic pricing recommendations to be presented to senior leadership. The Sr. Manager of Pricing accomplishes these objectives through research and analysis of competitive pricing dynamics and development of robust pricing models for Asurion products and product lines. The role provides weekly access to Asurion's top executives and exposure all parts of our diverse business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

・Conduct rigorous analysis and modeling based on key pricing inputs to develop optimal pricing recommendations

・Synthesize analysis and present recommendations to senior management

Identify and highlight key strategic considerations surrounding each pricing request

・Coordinate the collection of cost, volume, revenue, and operational information across business units

・Consolidate and manage pricing knowledge over time to provide ever greater context for pricing decisions

・Identify, execute and manage specific initiatives to further the company's ability to effectively design and price products. Examples of such initiatives include:

Improve the understanding of price elasticity of demand

Analyze the trade-off between product attributes and demand

Review corporate margin requirements in the context of competitive and market constraints

Analyze effectiveness of past pricing decisions

・Identify and implement improvements in analytical techniques and data infrastructure to improve the quality of pricing decisions

Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of business experience post-MBA working in an analytic capacity in fields such as management consulting, risk management, marketing analytics, or financial analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; knowledge of Visual Basic, SQL, SPSS or an alternate statistical package preferred
  • Highly self-motivated with a track record of taking ownership
  • Bilingual (Japanese/English)
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS:This position requires advanced financial modeling skills using Microsoft Excel. Basic to intermediate SQL, R, SPSS, SAS, and/or JMP skills would be considered a plus.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:This position applies advanced mathematical-based methodologies to predict or support conclusions or theories. Such applications may include, but are not limited to, statistical analysis, algebra and calculus.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build complex financial models needed to understand issues at a detailed level and forecast impacts of change
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and output to non-experts in both a written and verbal manner
  • Exceptional business insight and strategic orientation
  • Critical thinking skills in formulating hypotheses, interpreting results, and being able to make educated guesses when data may be sparse or unavailable
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to handle high levels of ambiguity
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Ability to anticipate problems and opportunities and the initiative to pursue solutions

  • Conditions

    Type of contract: Permanent

    Probationary period: 3 months

    Working hours: 9:00-17:30(60mi break) with flextime, Teleworking

    Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, Public holidays, Year-end and New Year holidays

    Annual paid leave: 20 days maximum (depending on the month of joining, years of service)

    Other vacation: Congratulatory and condolence leave, Special flex leave, Refreshment leave, Child care leave, Family care leave

    Compensation: Will be informed before the 1st interview

    Salary revision: Once a year(revised to reflect the company and individual performance in March)
