Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the AI strategy in alignment with the overall business goals and objectives. Collaborate with the Global Head of AI, Data & Analytics to drive innovation and growth.
2. Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of AI professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to achieve their goals.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Data Science, Engineering, Product Management, and Business Units to integrate AI solutions into various business processes and products.
4. Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders to communicate the value and impact of AI initiatives. Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
5. Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and related technologies. Drive research and development efforts to explore new AI applications and improve existing solutions.
6. Budget and Resource Management: Manage the AI department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI. Identify and secure additional funding as needed.
7. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all AI initiatives comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards. Promote responsible AI practices within the organization.

Qualifications

1. Education: Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in AI, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale AI projects and teams.
3. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and data analytics. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and Java. Specific experience with or knowledge of Azure Databricks strongly preferred.
4. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Experience in building and scaling AI teams.
5. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable AI initiatives. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
7. Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry trends and best practices in AI. Experience in applying AI solutions in various domains such as finance, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, or semiconductors.
8. Language: Native or near native level spoken Japanese and English mandatory. Business level written Japanese and English mandatory.
9. Location: Ability to work onsite regularly at our Tokyo offices, and occasionally remotely.
