About our client
Our client is an independent global beverage company that develops and manages a portfolio of innovative premium products. The business coverage spans every continent with dedicated teams in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Japan is a one of the key strategic markets, driven by the remarkable success of the largest premium liqueur brand in Japan.
Our client is now seeking to establish new premium brands in the market, and hiring a Japan Supply Chain manager to lead all the supply chain operations in relation with this new business: import, order and inventory management, domestic logistics, and customer services.
Scope
The Supply Chain manager manages and coordinates all activities related to the supply, import, custom clearance, domestic logistics, and orders fulfillment in Japan.
- Setup import, logistics and delivery processes, building an effective network of 3PL partners to start and scale the operations.
- Manage the entire import and logistics operations in coordination with the HQ and the 3PL partners.
- Manage orders and delivery to top wholesalers, bar suppliers, direct B2C, and Amazon FBA.
- Monitor and manage inventory level at 3PL warehouse and internally to ensure rotation and maximize working capital.
- Negotiate with 3PL partners to continuously optimize the logistics processes and resources.
- Actively support regular and seasonal product, packs and on-pack promotions development, in relation with labelling, package and food regulatory.
- Conduct annual stock-taking of products and POS materials at the 3PL warehouse.
- Manage claims and deal with problems related to the quality, storage of goods and transport to the end customers.
- Recruit and manage a customer service team.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor Degree
- Minimum 10 years of import and supply chain operations experience
- Experience or knowledge in beverage industry preferred

- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Comprehensive experience and ability to manage logistics of all aspects of the supply chain: import, order and inventory management, management of 3PL partners, domestic logistics, customer service.
- Experience of setting up operations with new 3PL companies
- Understanding of import regulations, quality issues, and accounting
- Advanced Excel and Access skills
- Native level Japanese with fluent English ability
