The position contributes to create candidates of gene therapy products by vector design, vector construction and in vitro evaluation including high throughput and data scientific approach.
【職務の内容 / Essential Job Responsibilities】
(雇入れ直後)
- Contribute to the payload design and selection for multiple gene therapy projects (such as AAV, but not limited to AAV).
- Conduct screening of parts (such as promoters), sequence design, small-scale production, and evaluation in collaboration with members of project team and other departments.
- Contribute to the patent strategy such as FTO analysis and patent filing in collaboration with IP, and data-science driven payload design activities in collaboration with CMC and DX.
- Keep up with scientific knowledge on novel technologies on gene therapy product design.
- Support the evaluation of external opportunities.
- Report to senior scientist, team lead or head of Gene Regulation Technology in GT Engineering, and well aligned with steak holders.

- This position is based in Tsukuba in Japan and will require on-site work to manage wet lab works.
【応募要件 / Qualifications】
<必須 / Required>
- PhD in molecular biology or related sciences.
- 3+ years of experience in drug discovery research.
- Experience in the field of gene therapy.
- Knowledge and experience in GT modality design and small-scale production such as AAV vector.
- Technical proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques, vector sequence design, plasmid vector construction, virus production and cell-based assay.
- Experience working as a research project team member within a multinational cross-functional team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

- Be familiar with multiple areas of biology and technologies.
- Be familiar with machine learning/AI-based approaches to gene therapy.
- Be familiar with ophthalmology, central nerve system or neuromuscular diseases.
- Experience with pooled library screening
- Experience working in global, cross-functional team consisting of different backgrounds.
- Experience in patent filing and FTO analysis.
- Experience in collaboration research with academia/biotech or evaluation of external opportunities.

②裁量労働制の場合:裁量労働手当として職務グレードに応じて50,000~100,000円支給
③フレックスタイム制の場合:月間の所定労働時間を超えて勤務する時間に対して時間外勤務手当を支給
①Base salary: will be decided by the candidate's experience, skill and capability.
②When Discretionary Work System is applied: Discretionary work allowance will be paid.(50,000~100,000yen, based on the Grade)
③When Flextime System is applied: Overtime allowance will be paid for time worked in excess of prescribed working hours.
