About the role

The Design Engineer implements integrated circuits in existing families, based on existing architectures, solutions and functions. The designs are engineered and verified with simulations, based on SPICE models. The die design is engineered to fit the package and verified with existing assembly rules.

Location: Oita or Osaka

What you will do

  • Design of the Power management integrated circuit, die layout and wiring diagram in existing technologies. Prior experience in Power converters (DC/DC) and LED drivers will be a plus.
  • Performs FMEA and risks assessments
  • Set up of specification proposal sheet with proposal of datasheet limits
  • Delivery of technical input to technical document writer for datasheet creation
  • Engineering of transistor level schematics and test benches
  • Functional and Parametrical verification of the (block)design by performing simulations
  • Engineering and verification of die mask layout and wiring diagram
  • Delivery of the IBIS modules
  • Provides design progress and issues to the project lead and architect
  • Finds solutions to keep on track and escalates when unavoidable to resource manager
  • Performs peer design reviews
  • Secures inputs to gate deliverables are timely available and have high quality
  • Applies 6-sigma and DFM design methods and guidelines
  • Supports TPE during characterization and validation
  • Archiving of design database and gds2 files
  • Creates design documents and maintains family binder
  • Support customer complaints, questions and requests, initiated by PM and QA
  • Maintains and shares knowledge of products on hand
  • Identifies training opportunities and aligns progress on skills

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics
  • Analog IC Design and Layout
  • SPICE based simulations
  • Make planning of own tasks and demonstrate commitment to meet plan
  • Show initiative, take ownership and have an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Have customer orientation and quality mindset
  • Possesses Analytical Skills and ability to apply pragmatic approaches
  • Communication skills in Japanese. Better to have English communication skill.

    担当する業務の概略

    設計エンジニアは、既存のアーキテクチャ、ソリューション、および機能に基づいて、既存のデバイスファミリーに対する回路設計を行います。SPICEモデルに基づいて、シミュレーションおよび検証により設計します。ICチップの設計は、パッケージサイズに見合うように回路設計され、既存のアセンブリルールで検証されます。

  • FMEAおよびリスク評価の実施
  • データシートスペックの提案を含む仕様提案シートの設定
  • データシート作成のための技術文書作成者への技術的な説明に対する対応
  • トランジスタレベルの回路図とテストベンチの作成
  • シミュレーションを実行することによる(ブロック)設計の機能的およびパラメトリック検証
  • チップのマスクレイアウトとボンディングワイヤリングの検証
  • IBISモジュールの提供
  • プロジェクトリーダーとシステム設計者に設計の進捗状況と問題を提供します
  • 順調に進むためのソリューションを見つけ、やむを得ない場合はリーダーに報告します
