Responsibilities
The Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team's work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.
In this role, you will:
Research, analysis, devise strategic approach plans for public sectors for the issues related to TikTok's business domain.
Conduct outreach to policymakers, stakeholders, and influencers driving critical policy areas not limiting to internet safety for minors, personal data protection, hate speech, suicide prevention, animal abuse protection.
Work with industrial associations, allies, and NPOs.
Provide ad hoc advice to the public sector for better usage of internet platforms
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Substantial years of experience working in or around public policy areas, and understanding culture and methods to communicate with policymakers.
BA/BS in public policy, politics, law, or other arts and relevant field
Excellent communications skill in Japanese, and business level communication skill in English as this role will require working with both external and internal stakeholders in both languages.
Has logical thinking and excellent communication skills.
Passionate in pursuing success in the growing the company and enjoy working in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with relevant technology policy issues in Japan.
