Principal Objectives of Position:
Under the general direction of APAC Commercial Leader and Japan Managing Director, this position:
- Develops and implements strategies and actions to drive the growth of the Interventional Urology business in Japan, and leads new product launch preparations in collaboration with global stakeholders
- Leads the overall P&L, including sales, contribution margin (ROI) and headcount
- Collaborates on product development efforts for an assigned group of products.
- Communicates a clear vision and effective direction for both sales and marketing activities, while also providing appropriate training and development programs to subordinates
- Develop people and nurture talents within the organization to support future growth
- Build and maintain relationships with KOLs to assess market needs and identify future business opportunities
- Effectively manages business partners, including distributors and KOLs, to drive sustainable and profitable growth
- Identifies and develops new business opportunities by aligning with corporate strategy, enhancing organizational capabilities, and strengthening the company's presence in Japan
Key Area of Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Business Management
- Plan and execute both short- and long-term revenue generating strategies for the organization
- Analyze market opportunities and respond to market dynamics and changes for Urolift and Barrigel
- Develop and manage annual budgets
- Lead the overall P&L, including sales, contribution margin (ROI) and headcount
- Develop marketing strategies to build customer preference and drive volume, including working on Appropriate Use Criteria
- Create and implement new product launches strategy to drive business growth
- Structure innovative and profitable customer deals
- Direct sales and marketing activities
- Maintain market segmentation to support business objectives
- Formulate short- and medium-term operating plans, sales forecast, budgets and oversee related technical operations, administration, finance and accounting functions
Organization Management
- Create a strong organization aligned with core values, fostering a sustainable culture of trust, entrepreneurship, and enjoyment in the workplace
- Design an organizational structure that meets current and future business needs
- Hire, develop, and retain a talented, global workforce. Build a robust pipeline of diverse leaders equipped to thrive in a complex, dynamic marketplace, while championing initiatives that promote an inclusive environment and a highly engaged workforce
- Build and develop a high performing team sales and marketing team capable of succeeding in a competitive market
- Drive training and skill building programs to support a culture of continuous learning and development
- Drive talent management initiatives to build a strong talent pool and support robust succession planning
- Effectively execute annual performance reviews and performance management systems
Compliance and Ethics
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Accountable for legal and corporate affairs compliance
- Monitor the performance of the compliance program and related activities
Education/Experience/Specialized Skills & Other Requirements:
- Proven track record of developing and managing sizeable business and full P&L responsibilities within healthcare related industries such as medical device/equipment, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and biotechnology.
- Demonstrated success in organizational and cultural transformation, with a strong history of business turnaround
- Extensive experience in both sales and marketing leadership role
- Proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams through effective hiring, training, and motivation, fostering a highly engaged and results-driven organizatio
- High energy level and a proactive, goal-oriented mindse
- Hands-on, result driven leader with a bias for quick, informed decision-making and action- taking
- Reliable and trustworthy, yet flexible; fosters a culture of openness and trust, bringing out the best in employees and widely regarded as an outstanding leade
- Skilled in matrix management, effectively collaborating and engaging external stakeholders and cross-function team
