Job Title: Director/Head of Operations – Japan (Automotive Export Industry)

About Us
We are a rapidly expanding international company specializing in exporting automobiles from Japan to clients worldwide. As we strengthen our presence in Japan, we are seeking a highly capable and passionate Director of Operations to lead, manage, and develop our Japan office. This is a long-term, growth-oriented role for someone who wants to become a core part of our global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Full supervision and day-to-day management of the Japan office
- Oversight of vehicle sourcing, inspections, logistics, and auction operations
- Evaluate current operational performance and implement growth-focused improvements
- Build, train, and lead a high-performing local team
- Manage communication and coordination with headquarters in Cyprus
- Strengthen workflows and processes to achieve short- and long-term unit targets
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and local partners
- Handle both strategic duties and on-ground operational tasks as needed
- Provide clear reporting on Japan-side operations and remote coordination with global teams
Requirements
- Business-level English (mandatory)
- Past experience in the automotive, used car export, trading, or related industry (strong advantage)
- Deep understanding of the Japanese used car export ecosystem (auctions, sourcing, inspections, logistics, compliance)
- Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and drive growth
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Passionate, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Based in Japan.
