The Role:
The IT Specialist will be responsible for supporting daily IT operations across offices and retail stores in Japan. This includes providing technical assistance to employees, maintaining hardware and software systems, assisting with infrastructure, and coordinating with vendors and regional IT teams. The role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and the capability to communicate effectively with both users and IT colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Support & Operations
- Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues (PCs, printers, POS terminals, mobile devices).
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Troubleshoot network and system issues, escalating to regional IT or vendors when necessary.
- Manage user accounts, access rights, and IT asset inventory.
- Support local business applications and liaise with Head Office–hosted systems.
- Monitor basic server and network performance under guidance from regional IT.
Coordination & Documentation
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders for issue resolution and scheduled maintenance.
- Maintain accurate IT asset records and assist with procurement and inventory management.
- Follow company IT policies and contribute to improving support documentation.
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and basic networking.
- Hands-on experience managing end-user support in office and/or retail environments.
- Proven ability to coordinate with vendors and work in a regional/global IT framework.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Business–Native level Japanese required; English proficiency preferred.
Ideal Profile:
- You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- You have at least 3 years experience, ideally within a Helpdesk / Technical Support or IT Consulting role.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are a strong team player who can manage multiple stakeholders
- You enjoy finding creative solutions to problems
- You are highly goal driven and work well in fast paced environments
