Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Sales Leader – Healthcare & Life Sciences with strong expertise in the Japanese healthcare and life sciences ecosystem. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise sales initiatives, drive new business growth, and expand strategic accounts across healthcare providers, pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences organizations in Japan.

This role requires deep understanding of Japans healthcare system, regulatory environment, and technology-driven healthcare solutions, along with strong leadership and client engagement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute sales strategy for Healthcare & Life Sciences clients across Japan.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the LSHC sector.
  • Grow and manage strategic and key accounts across hospitals, medical institutions, pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences organizations.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with CXOs, senior stakeholders, and decision-makers.
  • Manage complex enterprise sales cycles, including solution positioning, RFP responses, pricing, contract negotiations, and deal closures.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales, delivery, and leadership teams to design compliant, scalable healthcare and life sciences solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage sales teams to achieve revenue, pipeline, and growth targets.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reports.
  • Ensure ethical sales practices and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Stay current on clinical data, industry trends, competitor activities, and patient needs through market research and industry events.

Technical & Domain Expertise (Japan Focus)

  • Strong understanding of the Japanese healthcare system, including hospitals, clinics, and public healthcare institutions.
  • Proven experience selling Healthcare IT, Digital Transformation, Cloud, Data & Analytics, and AI solutions.
  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and interoperability standards.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards and integration frameworks relevant to Japan.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese healthcare regulations, data privacy laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in Life Sciences domains such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, clinical data, and commercial operations is a strong advantage.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 15–20 years of sales leadership experience in Healthcare & Life Sciences, preferably within the Japanese market.
  • Proven track record in selling enterprise IT services, digital solutions, or technology platforms to healthcare and life sciences clients.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-cultural teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM tools, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to manage large, complex sales opportunities.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English is highly preferred.
