Cargo Business Analyst

【Position Overview】

We are seeking an experienced Cargo Business Analyst with 10–15 years of strong domain expertise in Airline Cargo operations.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of industry leading cargo management systems such as iCargo, CHAMP Cargospot (CSP), and other commercial cargo platforms.

Experience in product implementations, application support, and business process optimization for airlines will be a significant advantage.

The selected associate will work closely with the airline's Application Maintenance (AMS) team and business stakeholders to analyze issues, coordinate with product vendors, support product upgrades, and lead testing and defect lifecycle activities.

【Key Responsibilities】

- Application Support & Issue Resolution

• Work alongside the airline's Application Maintenance team to analyze and resolve issues raised by business users.

• Understand, document, and validate issues by reproducing them in development/test environments.

• Collaborate with product vendors (e.g., iCargo, CHAMP CSP) for defect analysis and resolution.

• Perform functional validation and regression testing once vendor fixes are delivered.

• Ensure timely communication, follow up, and closure of incidents and service requests.

• Cargo Product Implementation & Upgrades

• Support the airline in implementing new versions or major enhancements of cargo systems.

• Review and understand new product features, changes, and impact areas.

• Work with business teams (Cargo Ops, Revenue Accounting, Warehouse, Mail Ops) to define requirements, assess process impacts, and support operational readiness.

• Lead/coordinate activities across the implementation lifecycle, including:

• Test planning & execution

• Defect management

• User acceptance support

• Cutover preparation & post go live support

• Domain Expertise & Process Consulting

• Provide subject matter expertise on:

• Airline cargo operations (export/import workflows, acceptance, build up, breakdown, ULD management, load planning, irregularity handling)

• Warehouse operations (handling, storage, staffing, SLA monitoring, security screening, ground handler coordination)

• Postal mail processes (CN documents, receptacle handling, settlement, mail performance reporting)

• Work with stakeholders to evaluate process gaps, propose improvements, and ensure alignment with best practices.

• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, or configuration requirements.

• Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as a bridge between business teams, AM team, product vendors, and other IT groups.

• Prepare functional documentation, issue logs, test reports, and user guides.

• Participate in business meetings, workshops, and review sessions.

• Ensure proper communication of risks, impacts, and timelines to stakeholders.

【Required Skills & Experience】

- 10–15 years of experience in Airline Cargo domain.

• Strong working knowledge of major cargo platforms, ideally:

• iCargo/CHAMP Cargospot (CSP)/Other cargo management solutions

• Experience in implementing cargo systems for airlines, including requirement analysis, testing, cutover, and post production support.

• Strong understanding of:

• Cargo reservations, booking & capacity management

• Export & import operations

• Warehouse operations and GHA processes

• Postal mail and UPU processes

• Revenue accounting touchpoints (optional)

• Hands-on experience in:

• Incident analysis & root cause investigation

• Recreating issues in non production environments

• Vendor coordination and follow through

• Test planning, test execution, defect lifecycle

• Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with customer facing experience.

• Ability to work in collaborative, cross functional teams.

【Preferred Qualifications】

- Prior experience working with airlines, GHAs, or major cargo hubs.

• Experience with Agile methodologies or ITIL based support models.

• Exposure to integration flows (Cargo PNL/FFM messaging, APIs, EDI standards).

• Understanding of industry standards: IATA e Freight, ONE Record, CXML, UPU Mail standards.
