Job Title: Japanese to English/English to Japanese Translator for Automotive Engineering
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled translator to join our team at {company}. As a key member of our Development team, you will be responsible for translating technical documents and emails from Japanese to English and vice versa. You will also provide administration support, manage the development office counter, and communicate with team members through various channels.
Responsibilities:
- Translate technical documents and emails from Japanese to English and vice versa
- Provide timely translation services during project meetings to facilitate effective communication between Japanese-speaking customers and English-speaking team members
- Offer administrative support to the Development team, including contact management, equipment arrangements, contract creation, meeting scheduling, and more
- Manage the development office counter and coordinate with team members via email, phone, web-based platforms, and face-to-face meetings
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must possess one or more of the following experiences:
- At least 5 years of experience in translation work (Japanese to English/English to Japanese) in the automotive engineering domain
- A TOEIC score of over 800
- Administrative/clerical work experience
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in your work approach
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working with external parties such as customers or vendors
- Knowledge or experience in software, hardware, control technology, electrical/electronic, or mechanical fields
- Proficiency in mathematical functions
- Communication experience with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
Language Skills:
- Business-level English
- Native-level Japanese (or JLPT N1 certification for non-native speakers)
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
