The Compliance Manager will be an integral part of the team in Japan, reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance based in the UK. • Spearhead the onboarding of new merchants while conducting proactive reviews of existing partnerships, ensuring compliance is always a top priority.
• Take charge of regulatory requests and filings, expertly managing audits and inquiries with precision and professionalism.
• Stay ahead of the game by monitoring relevant regulatory changes in Japan, translating those requirements into actionable internal policies and procedures.
• Craft and maintain a dynamic compliance manual, leading engaging training sessions to keep the team aligned and informed.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in Japanese (native) and advanced English, ensuring seamless communication across teams.
• A proven track record in an in-house legal or compliance department within a financial institution, such as a bank, fintech, or payments firm, showcasing expertise in the industry.
• Extensive experience working with Japanese regulatory authorities, demonstrating a knack for navigating complex compliance environments.
