About Position 

Paidy's talented and innovative production engineering teams primary focus is to enable product teams rapidly, deploy, scale and monitor our vast network of microservices using the latest cloud platforms and DevOps tooling.

As a Platform Engineer, your primary responsibility is enabling feature and product teams to release high-quality, production-grade software. You will focus on automation, scalability, security, reliability, and incident management while working closely with engineers from various disciplines.

Key Role and Responsibilities

• Production Engineering: Enable product teams to rapidly deploy, scale, and monitor a vast network of microservices. Help troubleshooting AWS issues regarding access and/or IAM issues.
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Maintain a focus on the scalability and reliability of production systems. Implement monitoring strategies to ensure system health. Ability to be on-call for platform related issues (at least two consecutive days / twice a week). Using Datadog for dashboard, metrics, or tracing experience will be required.
• DevOps & Infrastructure: Manage and deploy infrastructure using configuration systems such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Utilize continuous delivery and integration systems and latest cloud platforms.
• Incident Management: Troubleshoot distributed systems and use strong problem-solving skills to work well under pressure.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum Experience

• Education: BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Programming: 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Scala, Python, Go, Ruby, Shell, and/or Perl. 
• Cloud Expertise: Background working with major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Systems Knowledge: Extensive experience working with Unix/Linux based systems. Container knowledge is a must.

Desired Attributes & Experience

• Containerization: Experience with AWS ECS Fargate and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
• Networking: Solid understanding of computer network theory and protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, DNS, OSI Model, and Load Balancers.
• System Design: Experience designing and deploying distributed systems.
• Automation: Proficiency in developing and maintaining scripts in bash, python, and/or go languages
