Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
- Manage project financial accounting, budgeting, and reporting in collaboration with Development and Asset Managers.
- Oversee external accounting service providers for SPCs accounting, cash management, tax compliance, and monthly reporting under JGAAP and IFRS.
- Coordinate with Country, Group, and Regional finance teams on planning, forecasting, audits, and policy updates.
- Prepare and review monthly financial closing, journal entries, and accruals in JGAAP and IFRS.
- Review contracts and ensure accurate revenue and cost recognition.
- Manage tax compliance, annual tax returns, and support tax audits.
- Handle SPCs cash management, including equity and debt drawdowns, covenant compliance, and capital structuring.
- Prepare monthly management reports with analysis on property income, project costs, cash flow, and SPCs P&L.
- Support FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure loan covenant compliance and reporting to lenders.
- Reconcile statutory reports with management reports for half-year and full-year closings.
- Implement global policies, procedures, and financial controls to maintain compliance and integrity.
- Monitor compliance risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, business functions, and senior management on finance matters.
- Conduct financial analysis and research to support informed decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Professional qualification such as Nissho Boki 2nd grade or higher is an advantage.(CPA preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience in multinational companies; Big 4 background desirable. Experience in real estate related business preferred.
- Experience in foreign investment in real estate development and operation in Japan via SPCs.
- In-depth understanding of general and transactional accounting, cost accounting and reporting.
- Proficiency in both JGAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Knowledge of local tax system as well as tax and statutory audit.
- Proactive in seeking out knowledge, capable of leveraging Lendlease's global platform for application to the improvement of the Japan business.
